About the Report
3.1Reporting period for information provided. This Sustainability Report by Minera Gaby S.A. (MGSA) presents the company’s main results for economic, environmental and social performance during the period spanning between January 1st and December 31st, 2010. The information regarding these results is compliant with the Sustainability Reporting Guidetnes, by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), in its G3 version.

This year, MGSA is presenting its first Sustainability Report, with self-assessment at a C+ application level, with external verification by Ernst & Young and corroborated by GRI. This constitutes an important milestone for the company, as in the prior exercise sustainability performance results were reported in a verified chapter of the Codelco 2009 Sustainability Report, whereas this year it is an autonomous document presented together with the report by the Corporation. In this report, there were no corrections of information in its content.
2.3Operational structure of the organization, including main divisions, operating companies, subsidiaries, and joint ventures. 3.6Boundary of the report. 3.8Basis for reporting on joint ventures, subsidiaries, leased facilities, outsourced operations, and other entities that can significantly affect comparability from period to period and/or between organizations. Regarding the scope and coverage of this report, both have been defined according to the principles and criteria laid out by GRI in its guidelines. This edition only considers information regarding Company operations, as it does not have divisions, subsidiaries or joint ventures.
3.5Process for defining report content. As MGSA is a Codelco Subsidiary, this Sustainability Report follows the criteria used by the Corporation, including the definition of materiality and priority of the aspects contained in the report. The information contained in this edition includes the indicators reflecting significant environmental, social and economic impacts regarded as relevant for stakeholders, according to the results achieved by several participation and feedback processes carried out by the Corporation since 2008..
