Rancagua, August 18, 2025.- Codelco delivered a new report on the situation at the El Teniente Division this Monday, reporting progress on the Safe and Progressive Restart of Operations Plan and maintaining ongoing support for the families of deceased workers.
According to the company, 17,970 employees and partners have participated in reflection, support, and training sessions. The provision of information and assistance to family members continues.
In parallel, the technical committee with contracting companies and union leaders held its second session, this time in Rancagua, to monitor the safe return, with representatives from 12 companies representing nearly 7,000 workers.
Regarding the status of operations, the mining company reported that the Panel Esmeralda, Esmeralda, Panel Reno, Pilar Norte, Diablo Regimiento, and Pacífico Superior sectors are operating. Over the weekend, 65,800 tons of ore were shipped to the Colón plant and 8,600 tons to Sewell. SAG Mill 2 is also operational, while SAG Mill 1 continues to undergo scheduled maintenance. The smelter, meanwhile, is operating normally with the Teniente 1 Converter and Gas Cleaning Plant 2, achieving a casting yield of 798 fine metric tons. Meanwhile, the dispatch of concentrate from the dome, acid, and cast copper to customers has resumed.
Regarding the ongoing investigation, Codelco reported that 39 requests from various supervisory and investigative authorities remain pending, including Sernageomin, the Labor Directorate, the Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Chamber of Deputies, the PDI (National Defense Ministry), and the Regional Ministry of Health, all of which have been responded to within the deadlines. During the day, Sernageomin teams conducted inspections inside the mine, and the PDI (National Defense Ministry) conducted investigations at the division's offices in Rancagua.
