Codelco's CEO leads key meeting with El Teniente's executive committee

Santiago, September 8, 2025.- Codelco's CEO, Rubén Alvarado, and the corporate vice presidents held a working meeting today with the division's executive committee in Rancagua, in the context of the event that affected the El Teniente Division.

In parallel, the general manager (i) of El Teniente, Claudio Sougarret, held a working meeting with the regional governor of O'Higgins, Pablo Silva Amaya.

Over the weekend, an average of 4,285 workers were registered on Shift A and 1,652 on Shift C, with more than 1,400 people entering the mine interior. The Colón plant processed 80.9 thousand tons of ore per day, while Sewell received 10.3 thousand tons. The SAG1 line was successfully started up on Friday, September 5, and the smelter operated with a daily melting of 2,854 tons of concentrate, molding 530 metric tons of fine ore per day.

Since last week, 26,276 participants in reflection, support, and training sessions have been recorded, including those from employees, the Vice President of Projects, and collaborators.

The state-owned company reported that it has received 59 requests from various regulatory agencies and authorities, of which 35 have already been responded to. The remainder are being processed within the established timeframe. Meanwhile, it continues to provide information and support to the families of deceased workers, as well as the implementation of the Safe and Progressive Restart of Operations Plan.

On Saturday, Sernageomin conducted an inspection visit to the Esmeralda and Panel Esmeralda sectors of the operation.
