The Lieutenant begins a gradual return to operations after meeting the demands of the authorities

The crew that will resume work inside the mine is 70% of the usual workforce. The return plan includes the safety and monitoring measures indicated by mining and labor safety agencies.

Rancagua, August 9, 2025. Following authorization from Sernageomin (Ministry of Labor) and the Labor Directorate, Codelco's El Teniente Division will resume underground operations tonight, on shift C, with an approximate workforce of 200 workers, equivalent to 70% of the usual number for a weekend. The company reported that it expects to achieve definitive normalization of operations this Sunday, August 10.

At the start of the shift, each employee will be greeted by their direct supervisor, who will lead a safety briefing and provide details of the return plan for their area. These actions are part of a reintegration process designed to ensure the safety and well-being of employees.

The resumption follows on-site inspections conducted by the National Geology and Mining Service (Sernageomin) and the Labor Directorate, which determined the resumption of unaffected areas of the mine, provided a constant flow of information and reports is maintained to the authorities.

The plan includes strengthening safety measures, ensuring living conditions, supporting and protecting workers, and close coordination with partner companies. It also includes ongoing monitoring of all field conditions and on-site verification of all operating standards, adding to the preventive measures already implemented by the division since the July 31 earthquake.
