Santiago, March 30, 2026 – For the eleventh consecutive year, Codelco has achieved first place in the mining category of the 2025 ESG Responsibility ranking by the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (Merco). With this milestone, the state-owned company reaffirms its leadership in a consolidated sustainability and transparency measurement, while also maintaining its position among the leading companies in the overall ranking, placing 20th out of the 100 companies evaluated.

This performance is based on a solid rating in the three key dimensions that make up the index. In terms of “most responsible companies with the internal environment, customers and society (S)”, the Corporation reached position 19, while in the evaluation of “ethics and governance (G)” it positioned itself in 24th place. Likewise, in the dimension of “responsibility with the environment (E)”, the company was placed in 31st position in the national ranking .

“Leading the mining sector again in the Merco ESG ranking reflects Codelco’s commitment to integrating sustainability, and motivates us to continue moving forward with responsibility and transparency as an essential part of our management,” says Gabriel Méndez, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Codelco.

The fifteenth edition of this monitor in Chile stands out as one of the most robust corporate responsibility assessments internationally. This year's process reached a record 61,342 surveys, organized using a multi-stakeholder methodology that integrates 26 different sources of information. The rigor of the analysis combines the perspectives of 1,549 executives from large companies operating in the country with the evaluations of 516 experts, including financial analysts, journalists, NGOs, unions, consumer associations, and Corporate Social Responsibility (ESG) specialists.

In addition to these groups, the analysis includes companies' digital presence, employee feedback through Merco Talento—which provided over 55,000 samples—and public opinion gathered through Merco Sociedad. Finally, the assessment incorporates 71 objective ESG management indicators, ensuring a comprehensive view that ranges from public perception to compliance with technical and ethical standards throughout the value chain.

This recognition is the result of a management approach that seeks to align operations with the highest international standards of responsible production. Through a strategy that integrates ethics, transparency, and social value at the heart of the business, Codelco continues to advance its sustainability and decarbonization commitments. Details of this performance, as well as specific indicators of progress toward its environmental and social goals, are available in the Sustainability Report and the Climate Change Report .
