The Corporation elevated security management to a direct dependency of the Executive Presidency and announced changes in key positions, including the incorporation of Javier Cantuarias as corporate manager of Occupational Safety and Health and César Garrido as general manager of Andina Division.
Santiago, September 24, 2026 - In line with the decision to place safety at the center of corporate management, Codelco will implement a series of organizational changes during the month of October aimed at strengthening risk control and consolidating the progress achieved in this area during the last few months.
As part of these measures, the Corporate Occupational Safety and Health Management, which currently reports to the Vice Presidency of People Management, will report directly to the Executive Presidency, placing the safety of people at the highest level of the Corporation's management.
“We are strengthening our capabilities to ensure they are consistent with our commitment to putting the lives and health of our workers at the heart of our decisions. Safety must be present in every process and at every level of the organization, and for that, those responsible must be at the highest level of the company,” said Codelco CEO Jorge Gómez.
