The collaboration between public institutions and the state mining company was reflected in the joint launch of the campaign “Taking care of yourself is always in fashion”, which took place at the El Teniente stadium and seeks to promote healthy lifestyles in children, adolescents and young people, encouraging recreational activities and good use of free time.

The collaborative work between Codelco El Teniente Division, the Municipality of Rancagua and SENDA (National Service for the Prevention and Rehabilitation of Drug and Alcohol Consumption) made it possible to launch the preventive campaign “Taking care of yourself is always in fashion” at the El Teniente Stadium Sports Center, which seeks to promote healthy lifestyles in children, adolescents and young people, encouraging recreational activities and good use of free time.
Emerson Contreras, Coordinator of the Quality of Life and Experience program at El Teniente Stadium, explained that “the Division seeks to enhance the work it does with the community and share this space to host this milestone together with the municipality and Senda is part of the collaborative work we do with institutions and organizations in the O'Higgins region.”
Raimundo Agliati, mayor of Rancagua, highlighted the collaborative work between his municipality and El Teniente. “I would like to thank Codelco for once again opening these facilities to the city of Rancagua. For residents who do not have the opportunity to enjoy a day in such a wonderful pool, this moment is unforgettable,” he said.
The municipal authority added that “there is also an agreement through the Sports Corporation that allows children and young people from Rancagua to participate in the El Teniente Division swimming workshops during this summer season. It is a great alliance.”
For SENDA's quality manager for treatment, Matías Crovari, “El Teniente has the opportunity to share its spaces and complement our needs and, together, build a public prevention policy. The collaboration is perfect.”
Teamwork
Macarena Matas, Director of Public Safety and Risk Management for the municipality of Rancagua, recalled that “safety is an integral concept and social prevention is part of it. That is why we thank Codelco División El Teniente for providing us with its facilities to organize a recreational afternoon as part of this launch milestone.”
Luis Guerra, councillor of Rancagua, said that “there is teamwork with Codelco and this unity helps to strengthen internal ties between different entities to promote drug prevention.”
Councillor Edwin Perrett also stressed that “the opening up of different spaces in El Teniente, such as this stadium and its facilities, benefits the residents and is highly commendable because the community values it very much.”
