Improvements in sports infrastructure and Family Health Center in Dintrans will benefit more than 3 thousand people

With the participation of more than 70 people, the infrastructure improvements of a multi-sports court and two rooms attached to the Community Center for Family Health (Cecosf) of the Dintrans Population of Rancagua were inaugurated. These projects, supported by Codelco El Teniente Division, will benefit more than 3,000 people from six towns and two camps in the sector.

Cristián Sanhueza, Director of Community Development, explained that "our main mission is to develop the territory with a focus on social value. With these initiatives, we are committed to strengthening community spaces through sports and health, as we recognize their importance in progress."

Recovery of sports space

The initiative arose from a call from the community, requesting support for the recovery of the local multi-sport court.

“El Teniente came after seeing a video in which children appear playing with stone arches. So, when they saw this, they called us and this progress was achieved that will directly benefit the children and young people,” said Raúl Veloso, president of the Dintrans neighborhood association.

The repairs consisted of renewing the perimeter fence, replacing arches and markings on the concrete floor. In addition, during the ceremony, the workers of Sala CIO (Integrated Operations Center) of El Teniente delivered sports equipment to the children of the population.

“We came to support this activity for the benefit of the community. Our motivation is to see that children and young people take advantage of these spaces,” explained Cristóbal Ortiz, operator of the Mining Management in the CIO Room.

Sergio Guzmán, head of the Tailings Operations unit of the Dams, Tailings and Water Resources department, commented that “for us, it is very important to maintain closeness with this sector. That is why it is important to generate social value in this relationship.”

The field was renamed Multicancha César Pizarro, “Pachuco”, in honor of a deceased employee and neighbor of the area. During the ceremony, a commemorative plaque was presented in his memory, recognizing his invaluable contribution to the community.

Contribution to comprehensive health

In addition, during the celebration, the ribbon was cut for two new service modules at CECOSF (Community Family Health Center) No. 2. This project consisted of the delivery of office modules and repairs to their exterior.

Marcela Labarca, coordinator of the facility, explained that “these initiatives improve the quality of life of all the people who live here. The population has increased. This helps us to increase the number of professionals and services that are provided.”

For her part, Jesenia Latorre, secretary of the Villa La Ribera residents' association, said that "this helps many people, because there are six towns here, including camps. It is essential for the people, because there are many elderly and minors here."

Aníbal Zamorano, a resident of the Dintrans community, said that “there are always needs in the communities and this support is very good. It is an excellent initiative because health and sport promote healthy living for our children.”
