Seremi de Minería and Sernageomin O´Higgins organize the launch of ExpoMinería Sur, resuming the activity after seven years, together with the collaboration of Codelco División El Teniente.

With a broad participation of media and regional authorities, as well as exhibitors and organizers, the official launch of ExpoMinería Sur was held, which seeks to establish itself as the most important mining event in the south-central region of Chile, and which this year is projected as a space for the exchange of technologies, safety policies and occupational health in the mining areas of our country.
This exhibition, which will take place on August 27, 28 and 29 at the El Teniente stadium, will bring together various suppliers from small and large mining to exhibit the main advances in innovation and safety in the industry. In addition, it will feature interaction activities between speakers, exhibitors and attendees, as well as workshops, master classes and mentoring sessions with free access for the community.
In this regard, the regional minister of Mining, Bárbara Gavia Herrera, said: “This year, mining has been a social protagonist with the Mining Royalty, which is why mining has become a little closer to the community and what better way to celebrate Miner's Day in August and hold ExpoMinería Sur in the region.”
He added: “It is extremely important that people living in the region feel involved in mining, hence the idea of bringing the fair to the El Teniente stadium, which is a symbolic place for the people of Rancagua and which will open its doors for 3 days free of charge to the community, and also to learn about the educational programs of the 5 mining high schools in the region.”
This year's program of activities is focused on three fundamental axes for the current industry: Technology and Innovation, Women as a driving force and protagonist in mining, and Education and its future role within mining processes.
The Sustainability and External Affairs Manager of Codelco Chile El Teniente Division, Germán Sandoval Calderón, said: “This is a very special event, because it allows us to bring together the entire community that is related to the mining industry. Mining is a fundamental pillar in the development of our country in terms of innovation, technology and also in terms of the positive impact on clean energy that mining provides, therefore, bringing together the O'Higgins Region for this activity is essential.”
Pablo Yañez, director of Sernageomin O´Higgins, who was also present at the launch, said: “As a service, we thank Codelco División El Teniente and the companies that collaborate with Codelco for being part of this important fair in the region and in the central-southern part of the country. We invite the community to be part of the three-day ExpoMinería.”
The activity will be free for the regional and national community and will take place on August 27, 28 and 29 to conclude the Month of Mining.
