Of the 4,500 scholarships at the corporate level, 1,116 were assigned to people from the Division and 473 to those who work in the El Teniente Project Portfolio.

More than a third of the 4,500 Higher Education Scholarships that Codelco awarded in 2024 to workers of collaborating companies, and which are established in the Framework Agreement, were assigned to people who work in the El Teniente Division and the Teniente Project Portfolio, with a total of 1,589 beneficiaries.
This financial support, which amounts to $997,274 gross pesos and was delivered at the end of last September, was obtained by students who are children, spouses or cohabitants of contracted workers, subcontractors and/or the workers themselves.
Mauricio Muñoz, Director of Management and Supervision of Contractor Companies at El Teniente, stressed that “Higher Education Scholarships reflect the importance of the preparation and training of workers and their families, which allows them access to developing skills. They thus have the opportunity to access better positions and better pay, with the benefit for companies and Codelco of having workers better prepared to face the challenges of mining.”
“El Teniente Division has always stood out for its high participation in scholarship applications and its high allocation of these. More than 35% of the scholarships at the Corporate level remain in the Division, which is a great joy for us because our collaborating companies and their workers benefit from them,” he added.
Codelco has been providing this benefit since 2007 and in the last seven years, 8,584 of these scholarships have been obtained by contract workers of División El Teniente and their families.
