The survey seeks to understand, from the citizen's perspective, how more than 120 companies from 22 economic sectors are perceived, on issues such as honesty, concern for the environment, relevance, contribution to the country, employability and benefits for their employees, among others.

Codelco was recognized as a leader in corporate reputation in the “mining” category, according to the Empresas Humanas 2024 study conducted for the second consecutive year by the strategic brand consultancy True Brands and the market analysis consultancy GFK.
The survey seeks to understand, from a citizen perspective, the performance of companies and sectors in the reputational field. To do so, this year they surveyed more than 4,100 Chileans over 18 years of age throughout the country, who evaluated a total of 123 brand-companies from 22 economic sectors.
“People's appreciation of Codelco commits us to continue working hard towards our goal of being a pillar of sustainable development in Chile and the world. We appreciate this recognition and we receive it with pride and great responsibility for continuing to contribute to the progress of our country and the well-being of people,” said the CEO of the copper company, Rubén Alvarado, after receiving the recognition together with the Vice President of Legal Affairs of the Corporation, Macarena Vargas. “This citizen perspective gives us tremendous motivation, inspires us and refreshes our commitment to contribute to the well-being of our country,” he added.
Unprecedented measurement for mining
The mining sector was evaluated this year for the first time. "In a very complex industry, with reputation variables that are always under tension and large international players, we are proud that a company that represents all of Chile has been recognized in the Mining category," said María Elena Guerrero, executive director of True Brands.
Among the main findings, the 2024 version of the study identified that, in general, companies were better evaluated than the previous year. This ranking is prepared on the basis of prior consultations with a citizen panel regarding what people understand by corporate reputation, complemented by the vision of experts to understand the dimensions of sectors and companies that are less common in people's lives.
The honesty with which companies are perceived is the dimension with the greatest weight in the evaluation made by people; financial aspects, concern for the environment, relevance, contribution to the country, employability and benefits to their collaborators, the quality of the goods or services they deliver and constant innovation are also key.
At the ceremony, in which 22 companies were recognized, one from each sector, a panel discussion was held in which Hernán Hochschild, president of Sistema B Chile, and Paula Daza, executive director of the Center for Public Policies and Innovation at Universidad del Desarrollo, participated.
