Rancagua, August 5, 2025.- This morning, Codelco issued a new report on the progress of the actions implemented in the aftermath of the rescue of the El Teniente Division workers, detailing support measures for the families, the status of operations, and the progress of the ongoing investigations.
Regarding family assistance, it was reported that comprehensive support for the victims' loved ones continues. Alex Araya's wake is taking place this Tuesday, and his funeral is scheduled for Thursday. In parallel, Moisés Pavez's funeral is taking place in the commune of Doñihue, while Carlos Arancibia's remains were transferred to La Serena for his wake. In addition, Gonzalo Núñez's family collected his remains from the Forensic Medical Service.
Regarding operations, underground mining activity remains suspended by resolution of Sernageomin. Nearly 5,000 workers entered the division's industrial areas to perform minor maintenance at the plant, the foundry, and other processes. The company also reported that reflection sessions and discussions are being held during all shifts, along with the implementation of a containment plan that will accommodate approximately 6,000 workers from the most impacted areas.
Regarding the investigation, Codelco's Internal Investigative Committee met, chaired by Julio Díaz, Vice President of Mining Resources, Development, and Innovation. The members of the International Audit Committee are also in the final stages of being selected. In parallel, the International Technical Board, composed of experts in geotechnics and geophysics, met to advise the company on associated risks.
Codelco reiterated that it will continue to report promptly and transparently on progress in each of these lines of action, prioritizing support for families and the safety of its workers and operations.
