The state-owned company reported that more than 24,000 workers and associates have participated in reflection, support, and training sessions following the accident at the El Teniente Division. While operations remain partially halted, the gradual restart plan continues.
Rancagua, August 29, 2025.- Codelco released a new report on the actions taken at the El Teniente Division, almost a month after the accident. According to the report, 24,710 employee and collaborator participation sessions have been held, including 1,829 telephone support interventions and psychological first aid training for more than a thousand supervisors and representatives of joint committees.
In the production area, the Corporation continues to implement the Safe and Progressive Restart of Operations Plan. Operations at Recursos Norte and Andesita remain halted, while between shifts A and C, more than 1,000 people entered the mine for preparation and restart work. On Thursday, 84.2 thousand tons of ore were shipped to the Colón plant and 6.7 thousand tons from the Sewell Pit, while the milling and smelting operations operated without significant incidents.
At the same time, Codelco reported that 52 requests from supervisory and investigative authorities have been processed. The Sernageomin team visited the mine's interior and received the preliminary technical report on the accident, submitted by the state-owned company on August 26.
