Rancagua, August 5, 2025.- This afternoon, Codelco delivered its second report of the day on the actions implemented at the El Teniente Division following the accident, detailing the progress made on the family assistance plan, the status of operations, and the ongoing investigation.
Regarding support, the company reported that Alex Araya's wake is taking place in Chancón, and his funeral will be held this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Parque del Sendero Cemetery in Rancagua. Moisés Pavez's funeral was held in Doñihue, while Carlos Arancibia's remains are being held in La Serena, with a ceremony scheduled for this Wednesday at the Las Compañías Municipal Cemetery. Gonzalo Núñez's family collected his remains from the Forensic Medical Service, and his funeral will be held tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. in Rancagua.
Regarding operations, Codelco reported that underground mining activity remains suspended by resolution of Sernageomin (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Livestock and Livestock). At the same time, the Vice President of People Management, Mary Carmen Llano, stepped down to take over coordinating the support plan for families and employees in the division.
Regarding the investigation, Julio Díaz, Vice President of Mining Resources, Development, and Innovation, will be exclusively dedicated to leading the internal investigation process. In addition, the Labor Directorate has initiated an inspection in the industrial sector.
