The organization, made up of more than 500 workers and former workers of Codelco División El Teniente, aims to promote education and support for the most vulnerable sectors.

Volunteers from the Futuro y Esfuerzo Group, made up of workers and former workers of Codelco División El Teniente, came to the Julio Silva Lazo School in Doñihue to deliver more than 2,500 school supplies to students from three educational establishments in the commune.
The material will be used by more than 500 students from La Isla, Cerrillos and Julio Silva Lazo schools, who join thousands of schoolchildren who have been supported by the organization, which works to promote education in the O'Higgins region.
Sótero Suazo, its founder and president, explained that “this work began many years ago. The supplies are important because the future of each country is education. Without education, countries do not advance. To achieve development, it is necessary to promote learning.”
Cristián Sanhueza, Director of Community Development for the El Teniente Division, said, “We are grateful for this significant work. Through initiatives like this, we generate value in our territory. By providing students with the necessary resources for their academic development, we promote education and human capital in the community.”
The director of La Isla School, Marisel Garrido, celebrated that the contribution “is wonderful, it is a great work. Material resources are always needed, because our vulnerability index is 97%.”
Meanwhile, Irma Vergara, director of the Julio Silva Lazo School, said, “We are very happy. The supplies are important, because resources are always scarce in education. In some way, this helps the children to continue studying and learning.”
This initiative is part of El Teniente's Volunteer Program, which last year facilitated the participation of more than 4,500 workers in community support activities. In total, 73 activities were organized in 14 locations in the regions of Valparaíso, Metropolitana, O'Higgins, Ñuble and Biobío.
