For four months, groups from the Mine, Plant and Foundry management will be trained to strengthen their emergency and rescue skills.

With the aim of sharing experiences and reinforcing the knowledge of the Emergency and Rescue brigades of the Mine, Plant and Foundry managements of the El Teniente Division, three hundred workers are being trained in groups for 4 months.
The program, which includes training modules in areas such as first aid, rope rescue and fire extinguisher handling, was designed jointly by the brigade leaders to ensure that everyone goes through the same training process.
Iván Silva Pozas, head of the Emergency and Rescue Brigade of the Mine Management, highlighted that “this is a milestone because before we conducted training individually, so there was experience that we were not sharing. Now we have prepared the modules and we design the content together so that it is transversal.”
The head of the Caletones Foundry brigade, Pablo González Moreno, said that “there are people who have recently joined the brigade and there is content that is very new, and there are others who are refreshing their knowledge and sharing experiences.”
This comprehensive approach has been well received by the brigade members, who have valued the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and level up their skills. Juan Pablo Martínez, electrical maintenance technician at the Foundry and brigade member, commented that "it never hurts to learn and train. And in this instance, we get to know the brigade members from other sectors of the Division, such as the Mine, the Pit and the Plant."
Aquiles Arenas Gutiérrez, an operator in the Plant Management Department, highlights the importance of safety training and the relevance of acquiring new knowledge for his job. "For me on a personal level it is super good because all this training and everything I am going to learn I am going to put into practice both in the workplace and at home."
“I think this initiative to involve everyone and be united is spectacular. The idea is that we complement each other and learn every day to be prepared when facing any emergency,” added Arturo Ayala Neira, member of the Mines Management Brigade.
