Codelco exhibe contrato con Mitsui
Santiago, Chile, 13 February 2012. Codelco today disclosed, at the 8th Civil Court of Santiago, the loan facility agreement it signed with the Japanese company Mitsui & Co. Ltd, as requested by the Chilean courts.
Juan Franco Asenjo, a senior lawyer at Codelco said: "This is a clear contract that provides Codelco with the financial resources to exercise its option for a 49% stake in Anglo American Sur SA, and it complies with all the legal and contractual requirements of that option. The contract alsoadequately protects the interests of Codelco and its owner, the State of Chile."
The loan facility agreement between Codelco and Mitsui was signed 12 October 2011, terms and conditions were also informed on that date to the Chilean Securities and Insurance Supervisor.
