Codelco, is the largest copper producer in the world and one of the most profitable companies of the industry. It owns assets for more than US$13,033 millions, having a net worth of US$4,528 millions in 2006. Its main commercial product is copper cathodes class A.

The Company operates through four mining divisions, while in May 2005 the Ventanas Smelter and Refinery, became Codelco’s fifth division.

The Company also participates as a shareholder of important mining companies as El Abra, in which it has a 49% share, and other mining associations focused on exploration development in Chile, as well as abroad.
