The central commercialization challenge for Codelco is to maximize the value of the production and the sales returns.
 
 

But it is also a priority to guarantee the future of the copper business. For this reason, the commercialization strategy is focused also on the development and defense of the international markets, with a particular emphasis on the sustainability aspects of our business.

In order to achieve these goals, Codelco seeks to:

  • be a leading supplier of copper at the world level;
  • put in practice sustainability policies ensuring market access;
  • have a high commercial intelligence;
  • favour an efficient commercial strategy and to fully use its sales force;
  • act in favour of market development and defense;
  • promote the expansion of demand in the markets;
  • incorporate the vision of the market and clients within Codelco.

Concerning the Commercialization strategy, the basic guidelines are:

  • Developing a centralized commercialization that ensures Codelco´s worldwide leadeship.
  • Fostering sustainability practices.
  • Having subsidiaries in the most relevant markets and with a global network of sales agents.
  • Assigning particular relevance to industrial clients and end users and to get to know their needs.
  • Striving for excellence in service, regarding both delivery and product quality.
  • Maintaining Codelco´s presence before the organizations devoted to the promotion and defense of copper.
