| Codelco takes Chilean coper to the main world
markets. During 2004, the Corporation commercialized 2.297 million
tmf.
Some 200 copper manufacturing companies throughout the world
receive the shipments leaving Chilean ports. Codelco gives
priority to the sales of refined copper directly to fabricators
of semimanufactured products, in the interest of having long
term strategic partners making possible a continuous presence
in international markets.
The most recent figures reveal that 43% of the shipment of
copper were destined to Asia, 29 % to Europe, 12% to Northamerica
and 16% to Southamerica (see graphs).
Concerning subproducts, Codelco has become one of the main
producers of molybdenum. In 2004 it produced 32.324 tmf.
