During 2003, Codelco carried out a major restructuring of its procurement processes, adopting a model of corporate management that gathers in one unit all the activities related to this matter.
The restructuring included both the organization as well as the practices underlying the processes. Thus, CODELCO consolidates the initiatives aimed at maintaining much closer relationships with its suppliers of goods and services, so both parties gain in efficiency and can do more and better business.
